Travel inspiration in Paris and Lourdes
Paris
Paris, the capital of France
One of the world’s greatest cities, Paris! The capital of France is also known as the City of Light. This enchanting city, at the crossroads of cultures, is the capital of fashion and home to world highlights such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and Avenue des Champs Elysées, to name but a few. In terms of architectural beauty, art history, events, gastronomy and sheer extravagance, Paris is a milestone ahead of any other city on earth. Paris has one of the world’s most extensive public transport systems. You can take a taxi if you are not much of an adventurer, but that would be a pity! Metro (subway or underground), buses and city bicycles are much more fun and are very easy to use, even for beginners.
Lourdes
Lourdes, the Marian city
Lourdes is a small town located in southern France. It is a world renowned place and a pilgrimage site for Christians. In 19th century a small local girl claimed that a lady appeared to her in a Grotto and the later told her that she was the Immaculate Conception. The faithful ones believed she was the Virgin Mary. Since that time, Lourdes has become a place of spirituality surrounded by a beautiful landscape. Indeed, Lourdes can be the ideal starting point to visit the Pyrenees Mountains. The Lourdes railway station is less than 1km from the sanctuaries of Our Lady of Lourdes.
