Dijon

Dijon, the capital of the Burgundy

Dijon is a town located in Burgundy region and home to more than 150,000 inhabitants. The town is probably most famous for its mustard. With an exceptional architectural heritage, the city of Dijon has 97 hectares of remarkably preserved monuments. Dijon is the gateway to the world renowned Côte de Nuits vineyards. Visitors can choose a guided tour to the vineyards and enjoy a glass of excellent wine in Marsannay-la-Côte, Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée or Nuits-Saint-Georges. Don’t forget to look out for the lucky charm of Dijon: the particularly worn-out little Chouette, which fulfills the wish of those who touch it with a left hand stroke.

Dijon is conveniently found on the Rhin-Rhône high speed railway line, making it easily reachable from Paris in approximately 1h35 and from Basel (Switzerland) in 2h10 by train.
