Travel inspiration in Vienna and Innsbruck
Vienna, the capital of Austria
Vienna is the capital city of Austria and home to approximately 1,6 million inhabitants. Vienna is the seat of many multinationals and is becoming more and more important as a centre for trade between Western and Eastern Europe. Vienna is also a city of green parks, calm, dreamy alleys, art and music. This city is rightly deemed a city worth living in, being a cosmopolitan city of culture and gastronomy.
Innsbruck, gem of the Tyrol
A picture-perfect Austrian city with Alpine appeal, Innsbruck blends lavish baroque palaces and designer boutiques with old-world taverns and glass-fronted bars. Glittering with crystals and shining slopes, it’s steeped in tradition but by no means traditional – as Bögen’s all-night parties confirm.

"My family trip to Austria"Vijaya Kumar i.
I have taken my family for a vacation to Austria in May 2014 and used Austria Rail pass to travel within Austria. We stayed at Maria Alm and took the train from Saalfaden station to visit Salzburg,Vienna and Innsbruck. The train travel was very efficient, convenient and comfortable, and we enjoyed the travel by train a lot. It gave us a country side view and a peek into the culture and customs of Austria and its people. The views of the snow clad mountains, lush green meadows and historical structures created a lasting impression on us and the train journey gave us the opportunity to experience the natural beauty at a close distance.
