Travel inspiration in Sienna and Florence
Siena, let the charm work
Horses thunder around the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo in Sienna’s summertime medieval Palio horse race. Stroll narrow, cobblestone alleyways past the zebra-striped Romanesque cathedral. Or go wine tasting in the Tuscan hills and pick up distinctive bulb-shaped bottles of velvety Italian Chianti.
Florence, the capital of Tuscany region, Italy
Florence (Firenze in Italian) is nestled within the Tuscan region of northern Italy and surrounded by rolling vineyards and olive groves. Visitors are just as beguiled by the beauty of the city itself as they are by the paintings and sculptures found in its many museums. The city was home to many well-known artists, writers, explorers, and scientists. Amongst its most famous residents were Leonardo da Vinci, Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo and Galileo. Famous for its rich history and considered as the birthplace of Renaissance the city is nowadays a popular tourist destination and is ranked as a UNESCO World heritage site. Many of Florence’s churches are works of art in themselves. The most famous of the city’s churches is the Santa Maria del Fiore, known simply as the Duomo.

Very relaxing journey between Florence and Rome. The staff on the train were very helpful and polite and the train was on time at every point. Station facilities were excellent and booking the trip online was very straightforward. Value for money Convenience

"Train from Florence to Milan"Gerald s. 04/11/2013
The train is very clean and seats are comfortable. Most importantly, they are always very punctual. I realise it is cheaper to buy the ticket on-line before travel and not when you are there. The price difference can be quite great.
"A wonderful experience"Wilfredo s. 01/11/2013
my family travelled in comfort and style from Firenze to Roma in a business class, and I paid for the tickets from special offers months ago, and these are worth it ! Value for money Convenience
"firenze-paris overnight train"Helen s. 29/10/2013
The journey could have been much more comfortable had one of us not been allocated the lower couchette. It is impossible to get a good night's sleep when part of the bed protrudes. We brought this to the attention of the steward but there was nothing she could do. It is the design of the seat. Also the blind on the door window would not close so light was coming in from the corridor. The steward in the dining car tried twice to short change us at breakfast so remember to check your change.. However, we would take the train again as it is so much better than flying. "Flrence - Venice - Mestre - Mi"Lachman b. 28/10/2013
Rail in Europe is a wonderful way to travel the trains on all our journeys were clean and prompt. The only point is at Mestre Station there is no lift to move your luggage as family we have 4 pcs of luggage that becomes a problem lugging it down and then up. The porter service is available but at a fee not base on personal gratuity. Otherwise a great way to travel Value for money Convenience
"smooth trip good service"Enigul s. 28/10/2013
The train from Padova to Plorence was clean and organizrd, very pleasant rip. I wish ther could be a way of knowing whether the seat faces forward or back when the reservation is made. I can not ride facing back Value for money Convenience
