It was the first time taking Thalys from Amsterdam to Paris and it was a nice experience. It was comfortable. Since we booked our tickets in advanced, it was value for money and we were allocated to seats that we wanted. Value for money Convenience
"confusing"Lynda Marie w. 22/11/2013
T he train we got on at Lille was two trains joined together which made it very confusing when trying to find the coach we were in nearly missed the train trying to find the right coach. and when we arrived in Paris the signs for the underground trains are really poor we expected better from such a large city. Arriving back at St Pancras in London the difference is startling even if you are a visitor and don,t know much of the language you would find where you are going much easier. "Delay appallingly handled"Teong l. 20/11/2013
The train to Paris Gare Lyon was to leave Figueres Vilafant (where I boarded) at 5:20 PM. it left the station punctually enough. However, when we got to the next station (Perpignan), we were told that strong winds had caused disruptions to power lines and, as a result, the track from Perpignan to the next station was not prperly set. The solution was for everyone to alight from the train at Perpignan and take a bus (provided) to the next station to continue the journey. To my understanding, the track at the next station had been amiss since 3-ish PM (2 hours before the start of our journey). Despite that, Rail Europe had arranged only one bus on standby at Perpignan to transfer the passengers. Needless to say, one bus was barely sufficient. So the bulk of the passengers waited at the Perpignan station for just over 2 hours for the next train to arrive hoping that in the meantime the track at Perpignan would be set right. All along, it didn't seem anyone was really in charge - there were sometimes conflicting indications from the rail employees. It really was quite an appalling state of affairs. All in all, the total journey was delayed for between 2 and 3 hours and arrived in Paris way past 2 AM (not including taxi queueing time!). If you take Europe Rail, cut yourself some slack as delays (for all kinds of reasons) happen more often than you'd expect and, frustratingly, quite a tolerated scenario, especially in France. The delay was unfortunate as everything else was good. Value for money Convenience

"An experience"Tausif k. 13/11/2013
The staff was great. The linens were fresh. The supplies were convenient. My suggestion would include an updated train car. Toilets were smelly. Berth was well designed but had seen better days. We paid for a first class berth, but felt more like a very used hotel room. Air conditioning was nonexistent. It was a good way to travel from Pome to Paris while viewing some of the countryside, but just had to keep focused on that rather than the accommodations.

"Great first experience"Efendy e. 28/05/2013
My partner and I enjoyed both trip from and to Paris. The seats were comfortable, it was 1st class anyway. The only trouble was that we had to carry our heavy luggage (after doing quite some shopping in Paris) to the 2nd floor (where our seats are located). We assumed it wasn't wise to leave it on the 1st floor considering the increasing rate of crime in Europe at this time. Over all the experience was great. Nice view and we enjoyed the scenery on the way to Paris. It rained almost the whole trip to Nice so the return trip made up to it. In my opinion, the choice at the bar should have more variety. And I couldn't ask for hot water even though I'm more than willing to pay. Instead I was offered to buy a bottle of mineral water, pour it into my instant noodle cup and the attendant heat it up in the microwave, which is not exactly hot enough. Value for money Convenience
