Reviews & ratings Nice - Avignon
"Luggage bin too small"Pedrito l. 23/07/2015
It was fast but there were just too many stops on the way to Marseille. The luggage storage was too small for the number of passengers in the coach, especially with some travellers who have big suitcases.
"an enjoyable ride"Oi Ling Ody l. 29/11/2014
it is a good experience travelling by TGV.
"a comfortable ride"Oi Ling Ody l. 29/11/2014
it is a pleasure taking TGV to travel around France!
"Our trip to Niceville"Charles W f. 24/11/2014
Our trip was wonderful and smooth.
"Timely ". 02/11/2014
The train was timely and efficient. The signboard that tells you where to stand for the coach at the station was good and thoughtful. On the train, more places for storage of large bulky luggage is required and these are insufficient now especially for trains that service incoming visitors at CDG airport. Overall, an efficient and value for money travel mode.
"Good connections"Warren h. 27/09/2014
The day we made this trip we had some tight connections and were able to make every train on time, thanks to each train being on time.
"Great trip"Kim m. 14/07/2014
We wanted to travel by train as part of our holiday experience and it certainly didn't disappoint. We booked well in advance and enjoyed the benefit of traveling first class at a very reduced rate.
"TGV"Alain f. 04/07/2014
From Nice to Marseille is not a TGV !!! It's the slowest train ever ! From Marseille to Avignon was a nice speed and a nice experience
"Avignon to Nice by rail". 26/06/2014
Easy to follow guidance in the station, easy to find and very comfortable, clean seats.
"This was not first class"Renate s. 26/06/2014
We travelled first class as we usually do in trains. This one was a bit crowded and little or no space for the luggage. The wagons had upper and lower deck. There was a small space for luggage storage but it was ridiculously small to be used by both upper and lower deck travellers. To make it worse, a Family with children (sitting on the upper deck) left their toddlers stroller collapsed in the middle of the way, so that travellers on the lower deck could barely enter the lower deck room. People were tripping over the stroller. It was quite inconvenient with so little common sense of the owners and not enough storage for upper and lower traveller's luggage, which sometimes were rolling around until someone could secure them. First class? Nope! It reminded me of the emigration ships in the fourties and fifties, with crowds, shouts, smells, etc. One had to go far to find a clean and working toilet.
"Quality travel"Frances f. 06/06/2014
This was our first leg on a 10 day rail tour. Everything was well organised .the bar staff efficient and friendly
"Timetabling needs improvement"Amy f. 04/05/2014
The train was comfortable and good to have sufficient racks for travellers to put their suitcases. However, there was at least 35 minutes delay on arrival to my destination, Avignon. My second ride on the train also had the same problem but delay was less serious. A bit frustrated as trains are supposed to be on time as there is no traffic jam that can affect its schedule.
The quality of TGV on this trip is not as good as expected. The speed is also not as expected.
"TGV Nice to Avignon"Edwina g. 19/04/2014
The trip itself was good. Not being able to select the actual seat on line, would make me never book this way again. I was traveling to experience a trip I am having as part of my foodie package escapades and it is vital that I be able to select the seats.
"TGV train from Nice to Avignon"Margaret Lynn h. 19/08/2013
I had booked the ticket on line and reserved my seat. I had chosen the train time to ensure I made it from the airport to the station on time. I arrived earlier than expected and was just in time to catch the earlier train but was unable to change my ticket. However, this was very politely explained to me. The railway station in Nice was uncomfortable as there was no seating and there were crowds of people. I noticed that it is currently being renovated so this may explain this. The train arrived on time, there was very good signage of the carriages and I found my seat easily. The journey was fantastic - comfortable and pleasant. The return journey was equally as good. I would not hesitate to use this route again.
