Travel inspiration in Lyon and Paris
Lyon, the capital of French gastronomy
Proud of its history – Lyon was once the capital of the Gauls – the city offers an original trip back in time and through cultures. Gastronomy, culture, fêtes, nature, silk, light... you name it! Lyon has it! Besides being known for its culinary and architectural heritage, Lyon is also renowned for its effervescent cultural scene. The most appealing event of the city is the Festival of Lights, which takes place during four nights in December.
Paris, the capital of France
One of the world’s greatest cities, Paris! The capital of France is also known as the City of Light. This enchanting city, at the crossroads of cultures, is the capital of fashion and home to world highlights such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and Avenue des Champs Elysées, to name but a few. In terms of architectural beauty, art history, events, gastronomy and sheer extravagance, Paris is a milestone ahead of any other city on earth. Paris has one of the world’s most extensive public transport systems. You can take a taxi if you are not much of an adventurer, but that would be a pity! Metro (subway or underground), buses and city bicycles are much more fun and are very easy to use, even for beginners.

Train was brilliant

We wanted to see more of France than just Paris so we took the TGV to Lyon and it was excellent - a nice way to see the beautiful countryside and not a long journey for the amount of miles covered.

It was a great ride! I loved it at it was my first time riding the TGV. The downside was that the coach had a funny smell, probably from when they cleaned the carpets, and it was a bit bothering.

My trip for the above is very good. Ground staff were helpful this time, seats were comfortable, convenient and price was reasonable. The cabins however were not clean. Lots of rubbish fell in between and quite dusty, rather unsightly. Regards, Lyn
