    Geneva

Geneva, the second largest Swiss city

Geneva is the second most important city of Switzerland. It is located alongside Lake Geneva, Europe’s largest lake, at the foot of the Jura Mountains. The city of Geneva is home to a number of headquarters to several international organisations such as the United Nations (UN) and the Red Cross. This makes Geneva one of the few global cities with an important financial centre. Geneva is also a popular tourist destination mainly for two reasons. Geneva is a dream city thanks to a unique setting and a magnificent view of Mont-Blanc, the highest peak in Europe. The countryside, the perfect place for outdoor activities, is only a few minutes away from the city. Geneva is the best starting point to visit rest of Switzerland thanks to an excellent public transport connection.

Reviews & ratings Lyon - Geneva

  • "Change is good"
We changed to a direct train to Geneve so we did not have to wait in Bourg en Bresse. The agent at the counter in Lyon was very cordial, and in broken English was able to let us know we could do this without having to get new tickets printed. Love the trains in France!
  • "Excellent "
Dear Sir, Trip was excellent except , one stranger was entered in the coach 16 at Lyon Part Dieu station and our shoulder bag with credit card and cash of EURO 600 was snatched by him which has upseted our trip. Rail authority should focus on such issue in order to prevent such incidents. When people go for enjoying the vacation, such things upset the trip. Rail service and the ambience of the rail is excellent. Best regards, Ganesh Nayak 00971 50 6425139
  • "Porter Needed"
We had five pieces of luggage and would have really appreciated a porter service to assist getting on and off the train.

  • "Europe trip"
Everything was excellent however one suggestion the train should come a little early to the platform so that passengers shouldn't rush as there are no porters and dragging the luggage and finding your coach becomes tiring. And complimentary water should be provided to passengers on all class.
  • "Trip itself"
We expected a more modern train. The tripi itself was good, no special experience
  • "Confusion and satisfaction"
Along with several other people my husband and I sat in the wrong seats when we boarded the TGV from Geneva to Lyon . The signage was not clear to us or others and we ended up in the wrong carriage. Once that was sorted out we had a very enjoyable trip
  • "TGV Lyria"
    The train was brilliant.
  • "Feel changing view"
It was very fun train. I was very good feeling to watching view change from field to mountain and lake.
  • "Surprised Bus Transit"
It was really difficult start from Geneve. Which firstly use by Bus from Geneve. It better to arrive Geneve station at least 45 min before. And ask information. Bus terminal is little bit far from Geneve Station.
  • "amazing"
Good service, wide comfortable seats and the help desk at the dtation is very informative ;)
  • "Family frip form New Zealand"
Traveling with 2 adults and 2 infants on our knees. We had a lot of luggage with us but managed to fit it all into the luggage compartments provided. Did have a moment of worry getting all our bags on and off the train but we were helped by some local commuters thankfully. Comfortable and easy directions to follow.
  • "Very comfortable ride"
Nice clean train, comfortable seats, arrived on time. Excellent experience.
  • "Lakeside views"
This short trip includes lovely views of the lake to the west of Interlaken. The trains are excellent and always on time.
  • "Very comfortable train"
The train seats were very spacious and the timing was OK. The only problem was that I couldn't print my tickets at home so I had to ask a friend that lives in Geneva to receive the tickets for me.
