Lucerne is famous worldwide for the beauty of its site. Nestled in lush hills on the banks of Lake Lucerne, it offers a unique panorama that stretches from the Righi to Pilatus. With its 60,000 inhabitants, is the eighth city of Switzerland. If we add to this figure the population of the city, built in conjunction with the city, the number of inhabitants is multiplied by three. Because of its size, its central location and its economic potential, Lucerne can be considered as the capital of Central Switzerland. Lucerne is one of the tourism capitals of the world, located in the heart of Switzerland and attracting more than 2.5 million visitors each year.

Reviews & ratings Lucerne - Basel
"Eurail Travel in Switzerland"Robyn k.
Train travel in Switzerland was fantastic, always on time and always clean. Felt very safe. We did travel from Basel to Paris by train and the toilets were very bad and the main Railway Station in Paris was really dirty but that may have just been a bad day. All the stations in Switzerland were very clan. Staff at Stations and on Trains exceptionally helpful and also all announcements were made in a number if languages so that helped since English was one of them. Can highly recommend travelling by Rail if you are holidaying in Switzerland.

"Euro rail experience"Jose Randy c. 15/10/2013
We were a group of four travelling from Venice to Basel in Switzerland. The train ride was exceptional. I would do this again not only for the beautiful landscapes but the service on these trains. You can see the countries by travelling on the train alone. Those beautiful countrysides in Switzerland was indeed a highlight for me. Definitely five star rating.
"Good, convenient"Jose Randy c. 14/10/2013
The train brought me directly to train station at Basel without problem. The train is quite comfortable.
