Travel inspiration in Budapest and Zurich
Budapest, the capital city of Hungary
Budapest is the capital city of Hungary and also its largest city. The city is divided in two parts by the Danube River. The left bank is called Buda whereas the right bank is called Pest. Many European roads and railway lines lead to Budapest, which makes it an important city in terms of traffic exchange. Budapest is generally not our first choice destination when we are thinking holidays. Contrary to what most of us think, Budapest is an exciting city which can without doubt match the other capitals of Europe. With its architectural wealth, global flair, rich culture and spas, Budapest is a booming metropolis.
An interesting fact about Budapest is that is the only capital city in the world which has thermal springs. Indeed approximately 125 springs produce 70 million litres of thermal water a day. The thermal springs are known to have medicinal effects due to their valuable mineral contents.
Zürich, the largest city of Switzerland
Zürich is a major financial centre and one of the most preferred Swiss destinations. In 2012, it was voted as the best city to live in Europe. It is an elegant metropolis on the lake bearing its name, with views over the snow-covered Alps, home to over 50 museums, 100 galleries, top hotels, shops and restaurants. Obviously it has to be Zürich! With its excellent public transport connections, this prime Swiss destination is ideal for excursions to the rest of the country. 5 days there, and you will get to know all about Zürich and neighbouring towns.
Reviews & ratings Budapest - Zurich

The 9.34am from Zurich on a Friday was crowded but comfortable. Travelling at up to 199MPH, and punctual, it enabled us to travel from Zurich to Manchester in one day. Pretty good. We had come from Budapest to Vienna and Vienna to Zurich via the Arlberg pass earlier in the week with a full day in both Vienna and Zurich. Good hotels near the main stations. A great journey home by rail! Only East Coast let us down!
