Bucharest, the romanian "little Paris"

From communist excess to Belle Époque beauty, Bucharest bares its uneven past on every corner. Neo-classical palaces sidle next to crumbling tower blocks in this rich, and unashamedly raw, mix of a capital.

Start your visit of the city known as the "little Paris" with its oldest artery, "Calea Victoriei". It leads to the square of the Revolution and its magnificent public edifices among which the national Museum of art, formerly Royal Palace, and the Romanian Athenaeum which offers international-standard concerts.

Be astonished by the open-air Village Museum nearby the Triumphal Arch or find out more about Bucharest’s history in the National History Museum. You will be amazed by the remains of the 15th century palace Curtea Veche and by the beautiful Church of the Patriarchate standing nearby.

You can go shopping in a bazar district and finally be welcomed by the Romanians with the traditional Romanian spirit: the tuica.
