In Barcelona, you will find the work of the famous Antoni Gaudí, an artist, architect and figurehead of Catalan Modernism. With a spectacular façade, it has become an icon of the city. Discover buildings from Catalonia’s Golden Era and Roman ruins in Barri Gòtic, the oldest district of Barcelona before heading to La Rambla, Barcelona’s most famous street. Don’t forget to have a peek at the Agbar tower, which is beautifully illuminated with more than 4,500 LEDs at night.

The wide pedestrian boulevard of La Rambla is lined with trees, cafés, restaurants, florists and shops. Don’t miss to taste the famous and absolutely delicious tapas, the excellent Penedés wine, the Pa amb tomàquet (slice of bread with tomato) and the mouthwatering Gambes al’allet (garlic prawns).

Visit the Mercat de la Boquería, a popular market where you’ll find fresh food. You can also visit the El Portal de l’Àngel, a large pedestrian walkway with many new and stylish shops to browse in. Shopping fans can head to Gràcia, 1 km north of the centre of Barcelona at the north end of the Passeig de Gràcia.
